Using DirectShow Filter as a Main Decoder Function in Windows Media Player

Have you ever realised that your Windows Media Player in Windows 7 or Windows 8 are using Media Foundation DMO? Some of the users tried to use any players besides Windows Media Player. One of the main reason is that the sound will always cut off at high bass point even at the lowest volume of the player, even though you did not change the equalizer at all.

Windows 7 and 8 are using Media Foundation to decode the file (eg: .mp3, .m4a, etc.) But there is one application that change from using Media Foundation DMO decoder to DirectShow filter decoder. If you have installed K-Lite Mega Codec Pack, there is one application that is included in the installer: Win7DSFilterTweaker (Windows 7 DirectShow Filter Tweaker)
